Groups of Four

I look at children your age,
Especially dark-haired boys,
And I wonder.

I see twins on the playground,
Catching the eyes of others,
And I wonder.

I watch brothers and sisters
Exchanging knowing glances,
And I wonder.

I gaze towards groups of four
Feeling a great loneliness,
And I wonder.
